Tata Tigor EV with 306Km range launched in India, here’s price and other features

Tata Tigor EV has been launched in India today on Tuesday, which was introduced last week. This is Tata’s second electric vehicle (EV) in the personal segment after the Nexon EV, which is said to be the cheapest electric vehicle in the country. This car will be available in three trims, which are XE, XM and XZ+. In which you will get dual-tone color option only in the highest trim. As everyone knows, the bookings for Tigor EV have already started. The EV has secured a 4-star rating in the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). The Tata Tigor EV has received the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) 306Km test range.

The Tata Tigor EV price in India starts at Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom, which is the price of the base XE trim. The XM trim is priced at Rs 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. While the XZ+ trim is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh ex-showroom. Customers who are willing to buy the car in dual-tone color option will be available for purchase in the XZ+ Dual Tone variant at 13.14 ex-showroom rate.

The Tigor EV comes in two color options, a signature teal blue and a Daytona grey. The Tigor EV comes with a battery and motor warranty of up to 8 years and up to 160,000 kms.

Interested customers can buy the Tigor EV for themselves either through the online portal or through Tata showrooms. The company has said in the release that this delivery has started from Tuesday.

The Tigor EV comes with a 26kWh liquid-cooled battery that produces 55kW of power and churns out 170Nm of torque. In addition, this battery comes with an IP67 rating, which keeps the battery waterproof. It features Tata’s high voltage architecture – ZipTron – which helps the EV to support fast charging. With the help of fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 60 minutes.

This EV has an ARAI certified 306km full charge range. The range is particularly improved over its predecessor, the pre-facelift Tigor EV that was launched in 2019 and was available only to government and fleet operators. In this you got the standard and extended range variants of 142KM and 214KM.

On the outside, there are a number of differences that make the Tata Tigor EV different from the Tigor equipped with an internal consumption engine (ICE). The new EV is based on the Tigor facelift introduced last year, but the new EV gets a gloss black panel with electric blue accents, while the ICE Tigor gets a radiator grille. Blue accents have been given inside the headlights as well as the new 15-inch alloy wheels. At the same time, LED Daytime Working Lamps (DRLs) have been placed in the foglamp housing.

Inside the Tigor EV is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which comes with iRA connected car technology with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. To handle the audio, 4 speakers and 4 Twitter setup have been given. It also gets automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster.

For safety, the Tigor EV comes with dual airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), rear parking camera with parking sensors and seat belt reminder for the front passenger. The Tigor EV also got a 4-star rating in GNCAP’s EV crash test. Tata has also added Hill Ascent and Hill Descent Assist.

The Tata Tigor EV comes with 35 smart connected features, which can be monitored using the Tata Motors ZConnect app which is equipped with iRA technology. These features are categorized under Safety & Security, Location Based Service, Remote Command, Vehicle Health Alert, Trips Analytics & Driver Behavior Score and Social Tribes.
